Abstract

Abstract: Pinus pumila (Pall) Regel f. hingganensis (H. J. Zhang) G. Y. Zhao which is a form of Pinus pumila (Pall) Regel has just been found in recent years, and small in amount. In order to protect and make use of this species, we have studied its biological, ecological characteristics and propagation techniques. The results indicate:grafting is the effective method of propagation, the most suitable rootstocks are Pinus koraiensis Sieb. et Zucc and Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica Litv. The successful grafting makes it protected in the forest botanical garden of Heilongjiang province.
