Wulingshan region is located between 27°28'and 30°05'N, 109°02'and 111°33'E, from to 189.4m to 2570m above sea level, with an area of about 100, 000km2. In this paper, some statistics and comparatively intensive analysis on native seed plants of Wulingshan region were given on family, genera and species, the results show that:(1) The flora is rather rich, there are 4119 species belonging to 1005 genera and 201 families. In which, 36 species belonging to 6 families and 19 genera are Gymnosperm plant, 3447 species belonging to 166 families and 781 genera are Dicotyledoneae plant, 636 species belonging to 29 families and 205 genera. Those families and genera which consits of one or less species takes lagest proportion. The tree plants are also rich (1972 species);(2) Geographical elements of family are dominant in tropical (91 families), 40 families belonging to Cosmopolitan family and 70 families to Temperatical family. Cosmopolitan family and Tropical family including a lot of species, but mostly typical families are subtropical and temperate familiy (especially E.Asia and Endemic to China);(3) there are 14 areal-types of 15 types of genera to China (C.Y.Wu, 1991), in which N. Temperate, Pantropic and E.Asia are dominant. 64 genera (takes 6.83% of total) are Endemic to China, some of them origin in Wulingshan region and its neighbors. Temperate genera are more over teopical genera;(4) There are 15 areal-types of species in the region, most of them belonging to E.Asia and Endemic to China which dominanted in subtropical. There are 2682 species belonging to China endemic elements. In which, 126 species belonging to endemic to Wulingshan region, 675 species belonging to endemic to C.China, other 1881 species can be divide into 10 subtypes distributed in every area of China. The geographical elements of species have decided the character and feature of Wulingshan region seed-plant flora:Based on archaic tropical flora and changed into temperate or subtropical mountanious flora of E.Asia. According to some East-Asian elements distribution patterns and migration routes, Wulingshan region is not only a part of the center of East-Asian elements but also a channel (Wulingshan hall) located on the middle of migration route in west-east direction of East-Asian elements, so we can think it a key region of E.Asia flora.

On the Principles and methods of cladistics, the phylogenetic relationships in Roegneria of Poaceae were analysed in the present paper. Eighteen series of Roegneria in traditional taxonomy were recognized and regarded as the terminal taxa, and its twenty-three characters from morphology, anatomy, cytology and palynology were selected as the basis for constructing data matrix. Brachypodium of the tribe Bromeae was chosen as an outgroup, and used for determining polarities of external characters;the data of characters analysed in the past were used for judging the polarities of microcosmic characters. The data matrix was computed with the PAUP program. Six equally parsimonious cladograms were obtained and the one with the lowest f-value of 0.228 was selected as base for making cladistic analysis. The results of analysis show that the sections or series revealed by the cladogram basically agree with those in traditional taxonomy, and the phylogenetic relationships among the taxa are also consistent those inferred by a unilateral evidence in the past. In the cladogram, however, the taxa of Sect. Goulardia were not derived from a identical ancestor, and the section probably possesses a complex composition;the systematic positions of one or two series are different from those of the series analysed by the macroscopic characters.

The present paper firstly reports the microsporogenesis and the formation of male gametophyte in Dysosma versipellis(Hance) M.cheng. The main results can be concluded as follows:The anther is tetrasporangiate and its wall develops conforming to the dicotyledonous type. The endothecium develops fibular thickenings. The tapetum is of the glandular type, of two cell nuclei. The cytokinesis of the microspore mother cell in meiosis is of the simultaneous type. A few partition of microspore mother cells have heterotypicfurrow between the two nuclei after the end of meiosisⅠthereby forming a structure which like dyad. Most of the microspore tetrads are tetrahedral and there are still a few other types, such as isobilateral, dilateral, linear and "T'shape. Microspores have various types of abortive to development. Mature pollen grain is of the 2-celled type and has three colpates.

Potamogeton crispus Linn.was cultivated in solution with different Zinc gradient concentration for 5 days for studying the effect of Zn excess on plants. Changes of SOD, POD, CAT and other indicators were analyzed and ultra structural damage was observed using electron microscope. The conclusion showed that:None toxic effect was caused by low Zn concentration (< 20mg/L), all in indicators had an increment tendency. Activity of SOD and CAT reached maximum at 50mg/L, while the other four indicators decreased, but activity of POD and chlorophyll content remain higher than that of the control, soluble protein content was lower than that of the control. All indicators decreased obviously at 100mg/L. Meanwhile ultra structural damage was caused by on excess of Zn. Such as disrupted chloroplast membrane, disintegration of chloroplasts;swelling of cristae of mitochondria and vesiculation of mitochondria at last;disrupted nuclear membrane, break of nucleolus into several small nucleoli and eventually cell death. So we could come to the conclusion that serious injury was caused by on excess of Zn.

Net photosynthetic rate(Pn) and apparent quantum yield(AQY) were measured with Li-6200 portable photosynthesis system in parallel with superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity determined with UV-754 ultraviolet spectrophotometer in attached leaves of poplar clone seedlings. It was found that Pn decreased, and photosynthesis depression phenomenon occurred at noon. At this conditions Pn was limited by non-stomatal factors, and the decline of Pn had no relations with the closure of stomata. AQY in attached leaves of poplar clone seedlings decreased and photoinhibition of photosynthesis occurred evidently under stressful conditions. SOD could protect photosynthesis. The inhibitor of SOD could intensified, while antioxidant could alleviated, photoinhibition of photosynthesis. The conclusion was that photoinhibition of photosynthesis in attached leaves of poplar clone seedlings had intrinsic relations with the accumulation of reactive oxygen species.

With 5℃ Night temperature treatments for 13h each day, net photosynthetic rate(Pn), stomata conductance(Cs), inter-cellularCO2 concentration(Ci), transpiration rate(Tr), water use efficiency (WUE) and chlorophyll content(Ch1) of one year Rhizophora stylosa and Heritiera littoralis seedings Leaves were measured after 1h and 4h recovery at greenhouse temperature. The results showed that Pn, Cs, Tr and WUE of Rhizophora stylosa and Heritera littoralis seedings leaves were significantly inhibited by low night temperature treatments but Ci were raised and Ch1. had litter changes. Pn、Cs and Tr of two mangrove species would rise as recovering times increased, which indicated that both Rhizophora stylosa and Heritiere littoralis seedling had some adaptation to low night temperature, when low night temperature treatment days increased, Pn and Tr of Rhizophora stylosa were more inhibited than Heritiera littoralis. A linear relationship existed between Pn and Cs and between Tr and Cs, respectively, which showed that carbon gain by photosynthesis and water loss by transpiration were inhibited at the same time.It is suggested that Cs was the main factor to control dynamic balance between carbon gain process and water loss process.

The effects of NaCl solution on cell division and growth of Hordeum vulgare seedlings were studied. Seedlings'chlorophyll content was lower than the control's when they incubated in NaCl solution. The seedlings grew slowly and their mitotic index (MI) decreased significantly when seedlings incubated at high concentration. The frequencies of micronuclei (MN) and chromosomal aberration (CA) increased in root tip cells of Hordeum vulgare seedlings at the same time. The results of statistics showed that there was a linear function between NaCl concentration and MI (also MN and CA). Mitotic index showed negative responses to NaCl concentration. The concentration of NaCl solution showed positive responses both in micronucleus and chromosomal aberration. It suggested that MI, MN and CA of mitosis in Hordeum vulgare seedlings could be used to monitoring environmental sodium chloride.
