PLANT MORPHOLOGY OF DOUBLE STEM PANAX QUINQUEFOLIUM L

Abstract: Individual plant stably possessing symmetric two buds was obtained from a group of double stem Panax quinquefolium L by several years'selecting breeding.There were a few of two buds in annual and biennial plants.However, symmetric two buds appeared in the stem base of triennial and quadrennial plants.Characteristics of the plants possessing symmetric two buds are:(1)more fruits;(2)short and thick main root;(3)heavier weight compared with plant possessing a stem.
