DISTRIBUTION POPULATION NUMBER AND MAIN TYPES OF COMMUNITY OF CALYCANTHUS CHINENSIS

Abstract: Calycanthus chinensis is endangered plant of the national second-grade protection of China, is endemic to Zhejiang Province and is relic of Tertiary. Its distribution and population number were investigated with site-plot methods in this paper, and its floristics composition and types of Community were analysed too. The result shows the total number of Calycanthus chinensis is 1732210 clumps and area is 2443.03hm2.They belong to 6 Main Types of Communities.And they lie in Shunxi, Jiakou and Longgang of Linan and Longxi of Tiantai.Among those, Jiakou and Longgang are two new recorded distribution areas, and Shunxi is a contemporary center of distribution, in which population number and density are the largest, and were protected well.
