STUDY ON OPTIMIZATION OF THE CULTURE MEDIUM FOR ORIENTAL HYBRIDS POLLEN GERMINATION

Abstract

Abstract: Having adopted the six species pollen of oriental hybrids and twenty-two formulation of culture medium. We studied the effect of sucrose and boric acid concentration on the pollen germination and pollen tube elongation, and further optimized the isolated culture medium for oriental hybrids pollen germination. The result indicated that the optimum composition of isolated culture medium for oriental hybrids pollen germination was 13% sucrose+143 mg·kg^-1 boric acid +1.0% agar.
