During the years of 1992-1997, the author had made a number of collections of the plants specimens about 1500 numbers in 20 counties and cities of River Huai plain of north Anhui province. The identified result shows that a species reported in this paper are recorded for the first time in China. The is

representative species selected from the different sections and series of
Roegneria
are examined in leaf epidermal anatomy in the present paper. Based on the leaf epidermal characters displayed by these species (including
Roegneria
species anatomized in the past), the rationalities of the dividing and coexisting
Roegneria
in the tribe Triticeae and the subdivision below the genus are confirmed, the evolutional levels and systematic relationships of the major taxa in the genus also revealed. In these characters, the forms of long cell walls, the guantity and shapes of short cells, the types and density of appendages, and so on possess probably the values for differentiating sections or series; the winding of long cell walls, the increase and crescent change of short cells, the decrease of prickle hairs, the emergence of hooks and macro 1hairs, and so foth are probably parallel to the phylogenetic development of the taxa. The last results show that the sect. Goulardia (Husnot) L. B. Cai is the most primitive in
Roegneria
; in the phylogenetic process, it might produce the sect.
Roegneria
and the sect. Ciliaria (Nevski) H. L. Yang which are more advanced than it, and also the sect. Curvata (Nevski) H. L. Yang which is the most advanced among the 4 sections. In the sect. Ciliaria (Nevski) H. L. Yang, the ser. Dentatae Nevski is the most primitive in the section, the ser. Ciliares Nevski is more advanced than the former, the ser. Platyphyllae L. B. Cai is the most advanced among the 3 series, and the ser. Ciliares Nevski and the ser. platyphyllae L. B. Cai might be derived successively from the ser. Dentatae Nevski. Furthermore, the systematic relationships of
Roegneria
basically are in agreement with the evidences furnished by sytology and morphology.

The development, pollination and fruitset effect of the inflorescence of Chloranthus henryi in Northeastern Yunnan have been observed and studied in this paper. The result shows that both of the terminal and the lateral inflorescence can mature and fruit, but their stamen are heteromorphosic, e.g. the terminal's developed underground are with 3 elongated connectives and 4 pollen sacs, but the lateral's developed above ground are with only a shortened connective and 2 pollen sacs and appear a serial of variations, from 2 sac's anther with residue of lateral connective to 2 pollen sac's anther without residue of lateral connective and then to anther just with 1 pollen sac occasionally. The pollination experiments and indoor plantation show that the plant is not insect-pollinating but with high fruit-set. Such simplification probably is a secondary adaptation to the self-pollination. The specimen of Chloranthus henryi with only lateral inflorescence resemble those of another species Chloranthus multistachys exactly and both of them have very similar distributions, which suggested that the later is most probably the individuals of the former in the late life cycle.

The pollen morphology and the wall ultrastructure of
Kmeria septentrionalis
are first reported in this paper. The pollen morphology shows similarity to the remainder of the family Magnoliaceae, and belongs to the primitive type within the present angiosperms. The wall ultrastructure shows the rugulate ornamentation of exine; sinuous tectum with perforations; very thin columellae, typical columella, shorter and erect, and belongs to the advanced type within the tribe Magnolieae.

One capsula of
Lilium concolor
salisb. var.
pulchellum
(Fisch.) Regel contains 33 to 208 seeds whose weight per 1000 seeds is 3.5g, germintion rate (66.0±3.8)% and longivity 2 years. Plant initiates to differentiate one flower in 2 years old in seedling nursery. And flowering rate of the lily is 56.6% but flowers are serious malformation. The 66.7% of malformation rate, which includes 16.7% of corolla malformation and 20% of gynecium malformation, results in 20.0% of fecandity. The average number of mature seeds per capsula is 75 seeds. All plants can differentiate 1 to 3 flowers whose corolla is normal and malformation rate of gynecium 35.1% in 3-years old. While the fertility rate of the lily is 62.1%. The reason of flower malformation, especially gynecium malformation, may be an adaptation favouring the continuance of the population under cultural conditior.

According to configuration, anatomy, size, and family or genus, there are five methods to advance germination of the wooden plant seeds, namely non-endosperm and radicle-exposed seeds——deal with low temperature or low temperature stratum(0~5℃);Ovule-differentiated or terribly minute or resting seeds——deal with low temperatur(0~10℃) combined with high or middle temperature;Hard and capsule-obstacled seeds——deal with boiling water, chemical medicine, physical crach, bacteria, or being embedded in the second year; Small seeds——direct seeding or deal with hormone;Seeds which will germinate when direct seeding——at normal temperature, fulfil the necessary condition such as water, atmosphere and so on. Many experiments have proved the dependability of these methods.

On various mediums with different variety and level of phytohormone, cotyledon callus of Longshan common buckwheat showed different differentiation states: (1) no differentiation took place; (2) root differentiation; (3) bud differentiation and (4) plantlet differentiation. The ratio of peroxidase activity in 4 kinds of calli is 1:1.47:5.95:7.78. There appeared also significant difference among their zymogram of peroxidase isoenzyme. Band 4' in zymogram is characteristic for the differentiated callus; band 2' is common for the undifferentiated and the differentiated; band 1' is of shortage for the differentiated root and the undifferentiated; band 3' is an extra for the undifferentiated.

The results showed the seed treated was not only the germination percentage decline but also the plant growth retardation, and the stem of a plant was low. The semilethal dosage was 20 minutes. Being an economical and available method plasma immersion ion implantation in mutagenic breeding was proposed.

By investigation on age structure of wild
Dioscorea nipponica
in Sanchazi Forestry Bureau of Jilin Province, we established static life table of wild
Dioscorea nipponica
population. The results showed that its mortality rate was very low during the ages of 3~15 years old, but after that began to increase, especially evident after 25 years old. The distribution type of the individual number of different age classes belonged to normal distribution within 30 years. 30 years later, however, its distribution type diverted from normal distribution, and showed that the number of individuals of each age class decreased linearly. The mean of longevity was also found obviously getting higher after 30 years. In brief, this life table fully indicates that population dynamic of
Dioscorea nipponica
in this region was declining and that this species is being endangered.

The relations between vegetative growth and reproduction is one of the important substances in plant reproductive ecology. There have been many research reports abroad in this field since 1970's. However the domestic reports are rare. The experiments on the relations between vegetative growth and reproduction in Pinus tabulaeformis were conducted in an artificial population. The results show that there are not significant different between one year female shoots and male shoots in the same direction, except the diameters in the west, and biomasses in the east and west. There are significant different between new growing female shoots and male shoots in spore biomass, shoot length and shoot biomass in the same direction. The length, diameter, biomass of same sexual shoots are significantly different among the four directions(in west, east, south and north).

Alniphyllum fortunei forest is a seral stage of evergreen broadlleaf forest sere, mainly occurs in red and yellow soil mountain of eastern central subtropics below 130.0m at elevation. It belongs to a community type of subtropical deciduous broadleaf forest.3 Plant Association Classes and 13 Plant Associations are described. Its successional trend toward recovering evergreen broadleaf forest can be fully proved through information analysis of community physiognomy, structure and species composition change between 13 Associations.
