Abstract: DNA microarray technology has made a revolutionary transformation in studying differential gene expression, the collaboration of multigene for one trait, discovering and locating target genes, among different individual in a same or different species and one plant individual in different development stage as well as between normal and diseased condition. The major advance of DNA microarray technology, as compared to conventional techniques, results from the small size of the array, which allows for a higher accurate, a quicker process and a higher sensitivity enables the parallel screening of larger number of genes simultaneously on one chip and provides the opportunity to use smaller amounts of starting material. Many significant achievements have been obtained in picturing the expression profiles of genes, discoverying the target genes and elucidating gene functions with DNA microarray on plant, such as Arabidopsis and yeast, rice.
