Abstract: A highly efficient regeneration system of Allium mongolicum Regel was established from leaf base segments via tissue culture. MS medium supplemented with 2 mgL-1 2, 4-D and 0.2 mgL-1 KT was suitable for callus induction. The shoots differentiated on MS medium added with 2 mgL-1 6BA and 0.4 mgL-1 NAA. The half strength MS medium containing 1 mgL-1 IBA was more effective for the inducing roots. The regenerated plantlets were transplanted to the soil, and over 95% of them were survival. At the second year after transplanting, the plantlets flowered and set seeds.
