Abstract: As a result of observation on 5 species and 4 subspecies of Hippophae and 5 species of Elaeagnus in China under scanning electron microscope, it was found that the characters of the culticle, trichome and stomata were different.Those characters showed that there were close evotutionary relationship among the taxas of Hippophae.The research also proved that the Hippophae and Elaeagnus are two entirly independant and natural genus.
