Zingiberaceae in Yunnan were reported containing 17 genera, 78 species and 9 varieties in Flora Reipublicae Popularis Sinicae (1981).Since then a number of papers have been published and many specimens have been collected. This paper deals with new, little known or noteworthy Zingiberaceae in Yunnan, concerning 6 genera, 15 species. In addition, one new species (Alpinia menghaiensis S.Q.Tong et Y.M.Xia) is proposed and 7 names have been revised to be to synonyms. Now, there are altogether 18 genera, 148 species and 11 varieties of Zingiberaceae known from Yunnan.

In this paper, based on the investigation of the distribution and the experiment of introduction, the comparative studies on the morphological characters and propagation characteristics between
P.lutea
and
P.lutea
var.
ludlowii
have been carried out.The result shows that there are obvious differences in plant height, carpels number, colour of flowers, and the propagation between them; the comparative analysis of the karyotypes and the soluble protein subunits constituents were also carried out between
P.lutea
and
P.lutea
var.
ludlowii
, the result also shows there are differences between them. The simultaneous application of several indexes indicate that the
P.lutea
var.
ludlowii
should be upgraded as a species rank:

A.hookeri
were divided into three groups, furthermore, the groups are consistent with the habits of
A.hookeri
.The result shows that intraspecific differentiation perhaps take place in

Larix
in Northeast of China because length and width of cones are variable.

The flower of
Eleutherococcus brachypus
has five anthers, each anther comprises four microsporangia. In meiosis of microsporocyte, cytokinesis is simultaneous type, which produces a isobilateral tetrad.Anther wall includes epidermis, endothecium, middle layer and tapetum, which belongs to dicotyledonous type.Tapetum with binucleate cells is of the secretory type. The mature pollen grain is tricelluar. The ovary is five-loculus with two ovules in each. The upper ovule is sterile and the lower ovule is fertile. The latter is mono-integinous, crassinucellate and anotropus. The megasporocyte undergoes meiosis and give rises to linear tetrad of megaspore. The development of female gametophyte is of Polygonum type. The first day in bloom, pollen grains shed, female gametophyte is not mature, which is in the four-celled embryo sac stage.
E.brachypus
is a protandrous plant. The relation between the development of stamen and pistil was documented.

Cytochemical localization of glycoproteins at the cell surface in the leaves of wheat was observed by electron microscopy using ruthenium red changes in the cell surface, glycoproteins in cold hardened.the thickness of glycoproteins layer seemed to have increased during the seedlings hardened at 2-3℃.prolong the time of cold hardened the glycoproteins layer appeared to have moved into the intercellular spaces and thinner.the glycoproteins at the cell surface in hardy winter wheat seedlings appeared richer than those of non-hardy spring wheat seedling.the results mentioned above suggested that plant cell surface may be closely associated with the plant's ability to resist cold hardiness.

In the period of 1994~1997, by using method of spectrophotometer (method of spectrology), wecarried out physiological data measurement for photosynthesized pigmentum and flower pigmentum content of leaves themselves of 8 varieties of color leaf tree in growth seasons, drew curves for changing of photosynthesized pigment content along with the time changes and in this we have found the internal reason of the leaf color changings in different seasons. It is because of the relationship between content of photosynthesized pigentum and the ambient temperature, the variations of external factors, including the intensity of sunlight, and length of sunshine lead to a color changing in leaves.

The endangered species
Adenophora lobophylla
population distributes in the northwest area of Sichuan province Jinchuan county, the all area is estimated not more than 500 km
2
.According to evidence of the literature and spacemen collected in 1950's,the distribution of
A.lobophylla
population is reducing. In the normal condition, the reproduction of
A.lobophylla
ppopulation is mainly sexual. However, when suffered the external serious disturbance and drought in the spring,it could make asexual reproduction. The distribution area below altitude 2700m
A.lobophylla
population performs scatter distributive pattern, not good at growth and development, and declining tendancy of population. In the better condition,at altitude 2700-2900m the
A.lobophylla
population performs normal growth and development, higher yield of flower and fruit and reasonable age structure.Above the altitude 3000m,the number of stemtiller, flower and fruit is decreased, and the life span is shortened. The communities including
A.lobophylla
populations could be classed to be
Populus davidiana
Dode forest;xerophilous thorny brushwood or brushland;xerophilous brush grassland and xerophilous thick growth of grass.
A.lobophylla
populations live in these communities and are influenced by many external factors.

The special habitats for endangered species,
Adenophora lobophylla
Hong population to grow and develop are formed in the northwest of Sichuan province and influenced comprehensively by the many factors such as external disturbance, geology, topography, climate, soils, biology. The external environmental factors which is leading the
A.lobophylla
population to be endangered status are: habitat was destroyed by overcutting of forest, bringing barren hills under cultivation; grazing; and diging it up as Chinese medicine; the geological disaster such as earthquake, landslip, mud-rock flow occuring frequently; Climate disaster such as the flood, the spring and summer drought; the harm of rust, pest underground and wildlife etc.All of these factors endanger the population number and the growth of individual periodically, frequently and extensively.Any action to damage the locative habitat from humane being should be stopped immidiately; the conservancy area for the
A.lobophylla
to be conserved at province level has been suggested to be set up in Jinchuan county; The introductive, cultivation of
A.lobophylla
population in the proper region should be carried out; and the research work should be continued in order to get the general regulation of the endangered species.

When flowers were pre-treated with AOA to inhibit ethylene synthesis, the recovery of the flowers from inrolling was markedly enhanced after exposure to a lowdosage of ethylene(12h x 1
μ
l/l),but it was not changed after exposure to a higher dose of ethylene (12h x 10
μ
l/l).After the flowers were treated with the low dose of ethylene, the ethylene production rate in the recovered petals remained at low level similar to that in petals not exposed to ethylene.Ethylene production rate,ACC content and ACC oxidase activity in the non-recovered petals were greatly higher than in recovered petals. The recovery ability from inrolling of petals depends on the dose of ethylene and the capability to synthesis endogenous ethylene.T he differences in capacity to synthesis ethylene among the petals treated with the same dosage of ethylene may reflected the differences in sensitivity to ethylene of the petals.
