ANALYSIS ON TAXONOMIC CHARACTERS OF LARIX IN NORTHEAST OF CHINA——GEOGRAPHIC VARIATION OF CONES MORPHOLOGY

Abstract

Abstract: Cones of Larix, collected from Daxingan Mountain, Xiaoxingan Mountain, Zhangguangcai Mountain and Changbai Mountain, were measured.The results indicate that most of cones in Daxingan and Xiaoxingan Mountain show elliptic and there is lower variation, that in Zhangguangcai Mountain and Changbai Mountain show oval and ovate and there is higher variation.They should not be regareded as taxomic evidence for Larix in Northeast of China because length and width of cones are variable.
