Abstract: The investigation of the structures of reproductive organs, megasporogenesis, microsporogenesis and the development of male and female gametophyte in Dendrocalamus sinicus are made using normal paraffin method in this article. There is a simple ovary, which is unicarpellous, unilocular, and uniovulate, in one spikelet. The ovule is bitegminous, crassinucellate and anatropous. The megaspore mother cell divides into linear megaspore terad after meiosis. The development of the embryo sac is Polygonum type with numberous antipodal cells. The anther wall is composed of four layers: epidermis, endothecium, middle layer and tapetum. The development of anther wall belongs to the monocotyledonous type, and the tapetum is glander taptum. The cytokinesis of the microspore mother cells in meiosis is successive and the microspore tetrads are tetrahedial. The mature pollen grains are two-celled and mono-aperturate. It is dichogamous and protogynous in the same flower.
