Abstract: The flower of Eleutherococcus brachypus has five anthers, each anther comprises four microsporangia. In meiosis of microsporocyte, cytokinesis is simultaneous type, which produces a isobilateral tetrad.Anther wall includes epidermis, endothecium, middle layer and tapetum, which belongs to dicotyledonous type.Tapetum with binucleate cells is of the secretory type. The mature pollen grain is tricelluar. The ovary is five-loculus with two ovules in each. The upper ovule is sterile and the lower ovule is fertile. The latter is mono-integinous, crassinucellate and anotropus. The megasporocyte undergoes meiosis and give rises to linear tetrad of megaspore. The development of female gametophyte is of Polygonum type. The first day in bloom, pollen grains shed, female gametophyte is not mature, which is in the four-celled embryo sac stage.E.brachypus is a protandrous plant. The relation between the development of stamen and pistil was documented.
