Abstract: The pollen morphology of Malus sieversii from 75 different populations were observed and reported in the present paper. The results showed that pollen morphology and exine characteristics could provide important significance to the taxonomy of the species. The pollen grains of Malus sieversii are 3-colporate type and its morphology and exine characteristics showed minute difference among different populations, according to which the pollen grains of the species can be grouped into 6 types. Some taxonomic and systematic problems were also discussed in the paper.
