Abstract: The present paper firstly reports the microsporogenesis and the formation of male gametophyte in Dysosma versipellis(Hance) M.cheng. The main results can be concluded as follows:The anther is tetrasporangiate and its wall develops conforming to the dicotyledonous type. The endothecium develops fibular thickenings. The tapetum is of the glandular type, of two cell nuclei. The cytokinesis of the microspore mother cell in meiosis is of the simultaneous type. A few partition of microspore mother cells have heterotypicfurrow between the two nuclei after the end of meiosisⅠthereby forming a structure which like dyad. Most of the microspore tetrads are tetrahedral and there are still a few other types, such as isobilateral, dilateral, linear and "T'shape. Microspores have various types of abortive to development. Mature pollen grain is of the 2-celled type and has three colpates.
