THE DEVELOPMENTAL AND ANATOMICAL STUDIES ON THE FLORAL NECTARY IN ARMENIACA VULGARIS LAM

Abstract: The nectary of Armeniaca vulgaris Lam is composed of an epidermis and nectariferous tissues which situated in hollow receptacle belonging receptacle nectary. The specific cuticle and sunken stomatal apparatus are present. in epidermis layer and these stomata remain open at all times. The vacuole occurcd regular change and the trends of starch is of ten conspicuous. The starch grains in epidermis gradually decrease and disappear at the end of preanthesis of Armeniaca vulgaris, but meanwhile in nectariferous tissues, they are accumulated and reach the highest amount. The content of protein in both epidermis and nectariferous tissues are plenty and stable during the whole developmental stage. The nectar is excreted from the cuticle and stoma.
