Abstract: This paper deals with the demarcation between Astragalus and Chesneya. For example, the species Astragalus milingensis was published by Ni & Li in 1979, but it was treated as a species of Chesneya namely Chesneya milingensis by Zhu & Cao in 1986. Based on my researches, this species should be treated as a species of Astragalus. The two genera Astragalus and Chesneya have some clear characteristics as their essence.
