Abstract: The fruit of Lonicera edulis is not a berry but a berry-shaped multiple-fruit. which develops from ovary, calyx tube and bractlet. According to the character of its fruit, Lonicera edulis should not be classified under Lonicera but new genus Metalonicera So Lonicera edulis isconbined Metalonicera edulis (Turcz.) M. Wang et A. G. Gu, comb. nov.
