Abstract: Cathaya argyrophylla forest is a famous Tertiary relict phytocommunity in the world. In this paper, are discussed the physiognomy, the structure, the phytocoenosium type composition interspecific association as well as community-type and its phytocoenological features. The result shows that most lifeforms are the megaphanerophytes of 84.6%, other life forms of 15.3%. The community structure was given. In 1825 M2 area of plots, the phytocoenosium type consists of 78 species, which belong to 36 families and 57 genera, the four dominant families are Lauraceae, Fagaceae, Rosaceae and Theaceae. The interspecific association of 30 species (woody plants) were analyzed. Finally, it is divided into 3 community types according to the ordination of paper stripes and similarity of communities as well as kierachical agglomerative classification. Among otherthings, the Cathaya argrophylla and Tsuga chinensis var. tchkiangensis mixed forest is a new community-type.
