Abstract: The present paper reviewed Stebbins' article "The Chromosomes andRelationships of Metasequoia, and Sequcia". The author advanced the dif-ferent opinions that except MetaSequcia glyftostrobcides, another diploidancestor of Sequoia sempervirens may be not extinct and it was Sequoiadendron giganteam perhaps.
