In the present paper, 18 species, 2 varieties and 2 forms of Vaucheri-aceae from Northeasten China are reported. Vaucheria lcyana is deseribedas a new species belonging to the Section Cornciculatae, Subsection Ra-cemosae. V. racemosa f. longislipitata is a new form. V. schleicheri, V. taylorii, V. prona and V. birostris, V. bursata var. major are first reported in China. V. undulata, V. uncinata and V. veriticallata are new recordsfrom Northeastern China.#br#The authors propose some ideas about ecology and dis tribution ofVaucheriaceae from Northeastern China. And some taxonomic problemsof this family are discussed.

This Paper deals with gross morphology of Zizania L. and its relatives. A total of 8 genera, 12 species, 3 varieties and 1 form were examined not only in some collections of herbarium but also in the field of Nanjing Botanical Garden Mem. Sun Yat-sen. The results, just as other characters, were suggested that genus Zizania may be considered as an isolated subt-ribe Zizaniinae in tribe Oryzeae. There are 4 species, 2 subspecies in the whole world, i. e. Z. aquatica subsp. aqualica, Z. aqualica subsp. brevis(Fassett) S. L. Chen, Z. palustris subsp. palustris, Z. palustris subsp. interior (Fassett) S. L. Chen. Z. texana Hitchc. and Z. latifolia (Griseb.)Turcz. ex Stapf. The evolutionary trend of this genus, Zizania, may bederived from ancient stock, Which also given rise to the genus either Oryza or Zizaniopsis, and therefore parallel evolution may have takenplace in tribe Oryzeae.

The genus Changium was estabilshed by H. Wolff (1924) on the basisof Mr. Chang Tsung-Sü collected specimen no. 13 from Huzhou of Zheji-ang province in China. This specimen had been named Changium smyrni-oides Wolff as type species of the genus. The genus Changium is used inmemory of collector Chang Tsung-Sü. The endemic genus has only onespecies in China. The systematic position of the genus (Umbelliferae) isbelong to Apioideae Drude, Smyrnieae Koch. It is mainly distributedEast China at latitude 28°-32°N. and 113°-122°E., this is the centre ofnatural distribution area. The more detail researched in classificatoryhistory, comments from the viewpoints of "Ben-cao", the morphologicaland anatomical characteristics, the geographical distribution, the biolo-gical characteristics and some chemical composition in the present paper.#br#This is the important information for researching the systematicposition of the genus in Umbelliferae and exploiting and useing resource.

All of the internal literatures which record Paeonia obovata Maxim., so called, native to the Northeast, described it's flower is red or white. The present paper, dealing with the studies of morphology, anatomy, cytology, geograbhical distribution and developmental rhythm of the peony, comfirms that the red flower type is the real Paeonia obovata Maxim. with morphological features: red petals;light-green filaments, less number of staments; grass-green leavies rising up, and the white type is the Paeonia japonica Miyabe et Takeda with morphological features different from the frormer: white petals; black-purple filaments, more number of staments; black-green leavies extending horizontally. P. obovata blooms in the first ten days of June and is distributed over Soviet: Far-east region, China:the Northeast and the margins of it's near regions, Korea, and Japan. P. japonica blooms in the first twenty days of May and is merely geographica-lly limited to China: Mount. Chang-bai, Korea, and the south part of Japan.

Uising the light and scanning electronic microscopy, all stages of the development of gametophytes of Phyllitis japonica Komarov, Aspleniaceae from China have been studied. The spore is bilateral and monolete with a prominent perine. The pattern of spore gemination seems to be of centripetal. The germ filaments develop 2-8 cells, uniseriate. The prothallial develo-pment is of the Aspidium type. The prothalli are hairy, broad-round cordate and monoecious mainly. The antheridia are large. The necks of archegonia are slender and the basal parts of that are swelling. As compared with the main characters of gametophytes in Phyllitis scolopendrium (L.) Newman, the authors suppose they would be in a synonym.

The estimations of primary production of phytoplankton in the pondin Sanjiang Plain were carried out in 1987 with white-black bottle method. The correlation between primary production and the major ecologicalfactors are also discussed. On sunny days, the water layer with the maximum production is atthe depth of 50% transparency, where the light intensity is about 200001x. The compensation depth changes with the climate. The correlation between primary production and biomass, Mg2+ is positive linear dependence. The P/B coefficient of phytoplankton under aunit of water surface is 177.7 during growth seasons. The rate of utiliza-tion of total radiation by phytoplankton is 0.31%. Nitrogen ip the wateris the Limiting factor for primary production of the pond.

In order to obtain basic data for clarifying Population Energeties in the Leymus chinensis grassland ecosystem in Northeast China, determina-tion of calorific values were carried ou ton the Legmus chinensis population which is the constructive vegetation in that grassland. Furthermore, energy storage in population materials on a unit land area were calcula-ted to ascertain its characteristic of energy storage under the natural con-dition.#br#As the results of this study, ear of the Legmus chinensis population possessed the highest calorific value among the various organs, that was 4898.28cal/gDW and living shoot appeared maximum calorific value among the components of the Legmus chinensis population, which was 4711.86 cal/gDW. Most of the solar radiation captured by the Legmus chinensis population was stored up its Under-ground for living through the winter safely and providing sufficient energy to sprouting of its Above-ground at the beginning of the growth season, next year.
