Taxonomic revision of the genus Parakmeria Hu & Cheng (Magnoliaceae)

Abstract: Based on the study of specimens and field observations, Parakmeria Hu & Cheng was revised in the paper.The brief taxonomic history was given, the reasons for conserving Parakmeria Hu & Cheng was expounded.Section Gynopodium of Magnolia Linn. subgenus Gynopodium Figlar & Noot. Was regarded as a new synonym of Parakmeria Hu & Cheng, Magnolia yunnanensis (Hu) Noot. and M. nitida W. W. Smith var. robusta B. L. Chen & Noot. as new synonyms of Parakmeria yunnanensis Hu, Magnolia omeiensis (Cheng) Dandy, M. lotungensis Chun & C. H. Tsoong, M. nitida W. W. Smith var. lotungensis (Chun & C. H. Tsoong) B. L. Chen & Noot. and Parakmeria lotungensis (Chun & C. H. Tsoong) Law as new synonyms of Parakmeria omeiensis Cheng. Four species were recognized, keyed and described in the genus.
