Pseudosasa zhongyanensis S.H.Chen,K.F.Huang et H.Z.Guo,a New Species of Pseudosasa of Bambusoideae from China

Abstract: A new species of the genus Pseudosasa Makino ex Nakai of Bambusoideae from China, P.zhongyanensis S.H.Chen, K.F.Huang et H.Z.Guo, which was found to grow in Xiamen Wan-shi Mountain and Xiamen Tian-zhu Mountain, Fujian Province, is described and illustrated in this paper. This new species is similar to P.amabilis(McClure) Keng f. but differs by having distinct residuum, when the culm-sheathes falls, and suberine sticking out around the basic culm-sheathes scar, the culm-sheathes scar is taller than culm scar, small and eversion culm-sheathes ear on the culm-sheathes upside, wrinkle and curving oral setae on the culm-sheathes ear edge, nearly glabrous or some short pubescences occasionally on the culm-sheathes tongue.
