Abstract: Larix are often considered to have two species in northeast of China. But the statistic analysis of the shape of seed scales, number of normal seed scales and the length of needle leaves indicates:There are geographic differences and marked continuous variation features in all above characters. It demonstrated that:Larix that distributes in Changbai mountain and east area is later than Larix gmelinii in origin. In fact it is a geographic variation species of Larix gmelinii in northeast area.
