New Varieties of Weigela

Abstract: Two new varieties of the genus Weigela—Weigela florida ‘Royal’ and Weigela florida ‘Ruby’ are described. The two varieties are approximate. However, Weigela florida ‘Royal’ is taller, 1.5-2.0 m height, it is distinguished by its flower color—sharp crystal jade red and dark green leaf color; W.florida‘Ruby’ is shorter, only 1.0-1.6 m height, it is distinguished by its flower color—Dan purple and golden yellow leaf color. Bothe two new varieties show the characteristics of ornamental specificity, strong resistance, and early and long flowering period.
