A LITTLE KNOWN SPECIES OF TRIFOLIUM FROM N.-E.CHINA

Abstract: This species was based originally by V. L. Komarov as Me-dicago gordejevi Kom., and then A. A. Grossheim transferred to Trigonella. But the type is characterized by petals persistent after flowering, the claws of wings and keel adnate to the sta-minal sheath, filaments dilated at the apex, calyx-teeth longer than the tube, base of stipules encircling the stem, pod short and usually enclosed by the persistent corolla. For these reasons the plant must treated under the genus Trifolium, becomes:Trifolium gordejevi (Kom.) Z. Wei, comb. nov. known only from the eastern border of Heilongjiang and Jilin Provinces with slight extension into the ussuri regions.A new record to N.——E. China.
